The DJ up there in the stage, not really clicking with the crowd, but spinning his decks for a paycheck anyway, the polite conversation around tables littered with hors d'oeuvres, the technical equipment carefully concealed in the middle of the party, the photo booth with the company logo background at the entrance, the disconnect that comes from watching the city below while in a very luxurious lobby, the empty conference rooms that are just not booked that evening. If you pay close attention, there are so many details. The corporate party in the London high-rise really felt like a corporate party. Some bars and other spots look a bit empty at times, but that's a minor complaint in a world that otherwise looks very, very good. The characters are modeled so well, and their facial expressions are excellent. The apartments you explore are so accurately decorated, matching the personality of its inhabitants. The advertisement you find scattered around is just incredible (honorable mention to the "There's a better solution" ones). The office spaces look and feel like offices. The street even has a relief texture, and not a flat one like so many other games. It looks great all the way down to the floor. Prague looks beautiful, even in the sad and run down parts of the town. I knew that I was in for a treat when I started rotating a box of ammo and saw it had warning labels, a bar code, and a manufacturing date. The team really did not have to go as hard as they did in making everything look so good, but I am so glad that they did. The graphics are another aspect of the game that blew me away. It's very rare to find games that genuinely get to you like that. I felt so powerless to stop what these people were going through, and I genuinely felt bad walking away from their problems, finding myself wishing to be able to do more to get them out of their desperate situation. The more I read, the richer the world got. I had the rare opportunity to spend an entire week playing this game and I spent as much time as I could reading every email, every pocket secretary, every eBook I could find. The petty employee that falsely reports his ex boss to the police after being fired for excessive absences. The stoic major character secretly arguing with his partner on how to handle their daughter's major medical procedure. The soulless gangster squeezing desperate people out of their last penny. The courageous normal guy trying to get people out of the increasingly oppressive Prague despite his wife's fierce objections. I was particularly surprised at the level of humanity scattered all over the place, both good and bad. This truly is a work of love, and I have so much respect for the people that designed this immersive universe that this game throws you into. I'm still in awe at the level of detail that you encounter in every turn. This is one of the best made games I think I've ever played. I had the fortune of diving into this game without knowing anything about the issues during launch.
